The New Day Campaign matters.

In the words of Founder and Director, Peter Bruun:

"As an artist, educator, curator, and organizer with decades of experience using art to bring people together, I have never been engaged in anything as meaningful or impactful as the New Day Campaign. It is personal to me, and has become personal to so many others."

Using arts programming and public engagement to challenge stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and substance use, and with a vision of a world where those with mental illness and addiction are met with compassion and understanding rather than fear and judgment, the New Day Campaign has touched thousands through art exhibitions and events, humanizing those affected by behavioral health challenges, bringing people together to find fellowship and uplift, information and resources, art and healing.

The New Day Campaign has been doing it in Baltimore, and now looks to bring its unique brand of programming across the state of Maryland.

With a growing stable of art exhibitions set to travel from Chestertown on the Eastern Shore to Cumberland in Western Maryland to points in between, with exhibition projects such as "Heroin and Healing" and others like it, the Campaign is ready to play its part in the midst of an ever-growing opioid epidemic. When we need it most, the Campaign is poised to build public awareness, connect people to resources, and fill hearts.

The more you give, the more we can do, such as:

  • enrich our current menu of planned programs, and add new ones;
  • assure programming takes place for communities that cannot pay but stand to benefit from the healing we offer;
  • maintain and build upon our current robust social media activities on Facebook and Instagram, expanding our reach beyond Maryland;
  • celebrate at year's end with a grand finale New Day Campaign event for our whole community.

Please: join us.
